We are a Belgian family of 4 who love traveling to beautiful places & stay in small scale lodging, where we can experience new things. Our trips abroad include Thailand, South-Africa, but also more nearby destinations such as France & Portugal.
We currently live in Copenhagen as our 1st expat experience with the family & are loving it!
I have worked for nearly 20 years in marketing & have a passion for interior design, my husband Patrick is a sales enthusiast. After I obtained an interior stylist degree in 2018, Casa Busket was my 1st big interior project, where together with our architect Norberto Grandela from NGA Arquitectos, we created a home-away-from-home for our family, which we love to share with other traveling families. We love to feel at home and get a taste of the ‘day2day life’ in the country we are visiting and that’s what we tried to create with Casa Busket.
How did we end up in Portugal? We fell in love with Portugal & the area around Lisbon a couple of years ago. We first visited the area when our youngest daughter Chloé was “on her way”. After a scouting trip in August 2019, we visited the house on our way back to the airport, thinking we would need to plan a new trip to fulfill our dream… However, when we entered through the big wooden gate of our house, it was “love at first sight”. We decided to buy the property & 1st spent more than one year renovating it to create Casa Busket. Since then we have loved spending holidays here together with our 2 girls Lilly & Chloé.
At Casa Busket we wanted to create a cosy place, with unique pieces & also keeping sustainability in mind – so we upcycled some of the existing furniture in the kitchen, bought some second hand & worked with a selection of local suppliers to create the boho feel in the house. Every piece was carefully selected to create the Casa Busket feel, but also with the idea to provide families a carefree holiday.
We hope you will fall in love as much as us with Portuguese hospitality, culture, surroundings & great food… and Casa Busket!
